Upcoming Events

Spring has sprung in Maine, and with it come a spate of upcoming events! Here's where you can find me in the coming weeks...

First, join me Wednesday, April 6 from 12PM to 1PM at the Portland Public Library, where I'll be participating in their Brown Bag Lecture Series. I'll be reading, chatting, and answering questions. The event is free and open to the public. You're encouraged to bring a lunch, and Coffee By Design will be supplying coffee.

Then, on Saturday, April 9, I'll be participating in Maine Crime Wave. This one requires registration, so if you're interested, be sure to do so by April 5. I'll be moderating a discussion with Jen Blood and James Hayman on the pros and cons of traditional and indie publishing, as well as leading an hourlong workshop (details below):
Thanks to the siren songs of YouTube, Netflix, and social media, it’s more imperative than ever that writers grab their audience by the throat and never let go. Sure, plot and character are important—but neither matters if your scenes don’t set the hook. This workshop will focus on the tips and tricks the masters use to do exactly that, and make their readers miss their bus stops.
