Twenty-odd pages of B-story this weekend, and I'm delighted to say the second draft is done. At 86,000 words, it's quite a bit longer than the previous draft. Having cut nearly 30,000 words during the editing of The Angels' Share, I find the fact that this one got longer pretty damn disconcerting.
Now, a quick read-through to make sure all the stuff I inserted formatted correctly, and then it's Katrina's turn. That's maybe the scariest part of the process, inviting somebody else inside your head to take a look around, but it's also the most exciting. Not much left to do now but cross my fingers and hope she likes it.
And by "cross my fingers", I of course mean drink.
